Dealstack provides software to equip private equity practitioners with better means to manage investment programmes, align incentives and free up their time to focus on value creation. The company needed a better and easier way to sort through and manage investors and documentation to streamline their data entry process.

Our developers seamlessly integrated into Dealstack’s organisational structure and ensured that team coordination was smooth despite working fully remote and in different time zones.
Throughout, we followed a solution-oriented approach, tackling issues one by one in a quick manner.
The first step was to flesh out the initial idea of what the app should look like and understand what the client was looking to achieve. Dealstack wanted to efficiently onboard the details of existing ‘in flight’ private equity deals, including secure aggregation, ingest and qc of records associated with large numbers of investments.
The team wanted to easily associate and manage contracts with investor and transaction records. This would be done via two mechanisms: uploading data files and allowing users to batch upload any existing data they already have, processing of large archives of contractual documentation and automatically associating entities within the uploaded files.
The next step was to launch the tech stack and get a dev environment up and running with the main technologies the team was looking to implement for the product.
We built the base components on a UI library and the backend. We used Prisma + NestJS+ Node for the data layer, while we utilised React + MUI + Redux for the app.
Manual tests were run in this case as well as customer trials. The product was tested with real customers so we could gather feedback on user experience and iterate.
The app was deployed to AWS and we assisted with resolving infrastructure and any post-deployment issues after user feedback.
The app was built and launched in under 2 months allowing Dealstack to stay on track and meet the short deadline.
The project unlocked another way for Dealstack to engage with their customers, taking their operational efficiency to new heights through automation.
Given the short deadline, whenever we hit a wall we provided Dealstack with alternatives we could run with that would achieve the same business value.
We provided Dealstack with daily updates on progress and bi-weekly demos. This degree of transparency helped build trust and shape the product in the right direction.
